Phoenix Children’s Hospital will host its 21st Annual Beach Ball on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at The Phoenician Resort. Benefiting The Ronald A. Matricaria Institute of Molecular Medicine, it will be a fun-filled evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing, and auctions all in the name of raising money to support the patients and families at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

This year we’re celebrating west coast style, by going back to our true Beach Ball “beachwear” roots with a summer chic Malibu theme. Wondering how to interpret your “beachwear best” attire? Think resort-wear-after-five! What says summer soiree better than a long maxi dress and a sky-high platform shoe? Men, what about a lighter colored pair of shorts with a gorgeous colored statement shirt? Check out our Beach Ball Pinterest board for more fashion forward inspirations.

As a general rule, resort style is geared toward warmer weather and walks the line between comfort and elegance. More formal than your average casual everyday resort wear, Beach Ball’s evening resort attire for men would be nice shorts or slacks, polo shirts, button down shirts, nice shoes or sandals, with the option of wearing a sport coat. For women: maxi skirts, linen pants, silk tops, casual party dresses, flowy dresses, espadrilles, wedges or strappy sandals.

Look to this trio of Malibu worthy options to inspire your own Beach Ball look! Whether you choose the chic Michael Kors Maxi Shirtdress, a Yumi Kim Floral Romper or a delectable Margurite Caftan from Lily Pulitzer, you will be as dashing on the dance floor, as you will be bidding on some of the most amazing silent auction packages Beach Ball has ever seen! Add a little pizazz to your look with bold earrings, statement clutch, and a pair of metallic strappy sandals. You could even do some Jack Rogers sandals for added beachwear comfort!

We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks and if you can’t make it on March 1st, help make Beach Ball a real California Dream by making a donation now. It’s the support of people like you that make a difference for the children at Phoenix Children’s, and for that, we thank you!
