Last year, 8-year-old Dylan went on a boating trip to Lake Powell with his family when the boat suddenly made impact and threw Dylan overboard. The propeller cut his jaw, back, leg, and arm and was immediately transported to Phoenix Children’s. Since the accident, Dylan has had 18 surgeries to reattach his arm, close his back, repair the broken bones in his jaw, and amputate his right hand and right leg below the knee.

Although movement is currently limited in his face and arm, Dylan lives life with a fighting spirit and according to Mom, “Always finds a way.” The family says they owe Dylan’s life to the incredible doctors and care they received at Phoenix Children’s. Dylan is Living Proof that Your Donations Matter, and photos from his recovery are below (click to enlarge).
