Hello, my name is Kaden and I’m in the 10th grade. I’m also a cancer survivor who has been cancer free for the past 11 years. At the tender age of 4, I endured six months of chemotherapy and many years of follow-up surgeries, anesthesia, MRIs, X-rays, blood draws and many other unpleasant treatments and procedures.

I know what kids facing cancer are going through, so I decided to give back and do something meaningful to help. Last year, Benjamin Franklin High School hosted its first PJ Day For The Kids event! Thanks to all who participated, it was a tremendous success! This year, I’m hoping to exceed the amount of money we raised last year!

Here’s how it works:

  • Donate $1 or more—either in cash or provide a check made out to Phoenix Children’s—and bring it to school on September 15. You can also bring a printed receipt for your online donation. In return, you will get to wear your pajamas that day as an act of solidarity to show support for all the kids fighting cancer who have to be in their pajamas receiving treatment, away from school, family and friends. It is also to honor the kids who have lost their lives while fighting cancer.
  • Receive a wristband upon your entry into school that day to let teachers know you have permission to wear your PJs to school in support of kids fighting cancer. Our student government volunteers will sit at a table at the school entrance to collect the money and hand out wristbands.

Let’s see how much money we can raise for these kids! Thank you for your participation and support. Step Up. Stop Cancer.
