Animal Assisted Therapy

Trained and nationally certified, furry volunteers bring smiles, lower stress levels, lift moods and improve recovery.

The connection between children and animals is profound. Visits from furry friends can lift spirits and help children feel emotionally, and even physically, better. Phoenix Children’s Hospital has explored this idea by offering Animal-Assisted Therapy to patients, funded by philanthropic support.

Visits from specially trained and certified animals bring joy, but also promote healing, reduce pain and improve communication. The presence of these friendly animals often motivates patients to get up and walk around and possibly even leave the room to play. Even struggles such as eating or taking medication become easier to a child participating in Animal-Assisted Therapy. Your donation helps us to continue to offer this critical program, where wagging tails bring big smiles to little faces.
