The Second Annual Telemundo Telethon raised an outstanding $104,546 to benefit the patients and families receiving care at Phoenix Children’s Hospital! Every dollar raised from our corporate sponsors and individuals donors will have a direct impact on the patients and life-saving, enriching programs. The June 7 event was full of patient stories, presentations of corporate sponsors and a whole lot of love for the children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Throughout the day, Telemundo on-air personalities broadcasted live from the Hospital. Alongside them were many patients sharing their stories about what Phoenix Children’s Hospital has done for them. They showed that despite all that they have been through, they have remained strong, making them the true heroes of Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
However, viewers were asked to become heroes themselves by calling in and donating. All donations were directed to the Hospital’s Hope Fund, which finances innovative research, cutting-edge technology, the recruitment of leading physicians, and the child-friendly programs and services that make the hospital environment more comfortable for young patients.
When donors called in, they were given the opportunity to Untie for PCH by committing to a monthly pledge of $20 or a single gift of $240. If they chose to do this, a patient received a Superhero Sidekick stuffed animal in their name. Not only did this give the Hospital more money for the Hope Fund, but it also gave patients something special to bring them comfort and joy during their time in the Hospital.
Thank you so much to everyone who called in and contributed! We would like to especially thank the corporate sponsors and partners, whom this event would not be possible without! Telemundo Telethon sponsors include APS, Filiberto’s and Lin’s Grand Buffet, EL Sol Foods, Jarritos, Los Altos Ranch Market, Panda Express and U-Haul.
