Phoenix Children’s Hospital kicked off the first weekend in October with the Distance For The Difference, a 3.46 Mile Walk/Run/Roll and 1 Mile Dash in Downtown Phoenix.

Kaitlyn at the 2016 Distance For The Difference

The route took runners, walkers, and rollers (even some furry friends!) through Downtown Phoenix. The unique distance this year was 3.46 Miles, one foot for each of the 18,286 kiddos who stayed overnight at Phoenix Children’s Hospital last year. Each year this number will grow, as far as it’s necessary so children can receive the care Phoenix Children’s Hospital provides.

The Festival was alive with dancing and warm ups lead by EDM Body Fitness and GCU’s Lopes Softball Team, who whipped and nae nae’d the morning away. We heard from PCH Kiddo Kaitlyn and her family, and kicked off the race with the National Anthem sung beautifully by 2 time cancer survivor and PCH kiddo, Trinity.

Distance For The Difference was made possible by our amazing sponsors and supporters, RSM US LLP, Baron Properties, The Breakfast Joynt, The Joint Chiropractic, Ameriprise, Amica Insurance, Welmed, Owens Harkey Advertising, CityScape, Downtown Phoenix, and the members of the 20 30 Club of Phoenix.

Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital supporters for going the Distance for Phoenix Children’s Hospital patients! You can find more photos from the event on Flickr.

Save the date! On Oct. 7, 2017, we will continue to Go The Distance for PCH Kids! Stay tuned for the reveal of the 2017 Distance For The Difference.
