Invest in children’s health

Phoenix Children’s sees a future in which all children have access to premier pediatric care, when and where they need it.

You can help make that vision a reality by donating cryptocurrency to Phoenix Children’s Foundation, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds to support Phoenix Children’s. Your gift will allow Phoenix Children’s to continue to expand its reach and impact, bringing world-class health care to children and families in Arizona and beyond, now and well into the future.

And not only does donating cryptocurrency make a difference for the patients at Phoenix Children’s, but it also has benefits for you, including tax savings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Donate Cryptocurrency to Phoenix Children’s?

Donating cryptocurrency directly to a 501c3 nonprofit is more tax efficient and can save you money.

The IRS classifies cryptocurrency as property for tax purposes which means it is typically the most tax efficient way to support your favorite cause. When donating crypto, you receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation. That means you’re able to donate more, as well as deduct more on your tax return.

If you provide an email, you will automatically receive a tax receipt after donating.

Can I Donate Anonymously and Still Get a Tax Receipt?

Absolutely! Phoenix Children’s Foundation has an option for donors to submit only an email in order to receive an automatic tax receipt.

Is My Donation Tax-Deductible?

Yes, Phoenix Children’s Foundation will prepare tax receipts for any donor who logs a donation and provides an email address.

More specifically, all crypto donations are made to our US-registered charity. Phoenix Children’s Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

Please consult with your tax advisor to determine whether your donation is tax-deductible in whole or in part. Nothing in this communication is intended to constitute legal or tax advice.

Is My Donation Refundable?

We will not be able to refund crypto donations. Please take care before initiating your donation.

How Much of My Donation will go to Phoenix Children’s?

Net of any transaction fees, we will use 100% of your remaining crypto donation to fund Phoenix Children’s programs.

Can I Donate My Bitcoin?

Yes. Instead of selling your Bitcoin and donating the after-tax proceeds, you can donate your Bitcoin and other cryptos directly to Phoenix Children’s Foundation, which means your tax deduction will be the same as the market value of the donation.

How Secure Is Crypto?

Traditional transaction methods such as credit card payments, ACH or wire transactions, or checks can take days to process completely. When you send Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies directly to Phoenix Children’s Foundation, it only takes around 10 minutes for us to receive the funds.

This means you can almost instantly verify the receipt of your gift by Phoenix Children’s Foundation from anywhere in the world. If you provide an email address at the time of your donation, you’ll have a receipt emailed as soon as the transaction is confirmed.

Because a blockchain relies on networks of thousands of computers to verify transactions, it is nearly impossible to tamper with the ledger. This layer of security should put you at ease, especially when making large financial gifts.

How Can I Get Involved in Social Giving?

Donors who support Phoenix Children’s during social giving days or campaigns like #CryptoGivingTuesday (think of it as #GivingTuesday for crypto) can see their donations multiply through matching gifts from generous philanthropists. Every gift to Phoenix Children’s, whatever the amount, makes a difference for the children and families in our care.

How Can I Demonstrate My Company’s Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility?

Donating crypto is one of the easiest ways that a company can demonstrate their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

By supporting Phoenix Children’s Foundation through a crypto donation or matching gift that aligns with your organization’s values, you are demonstrating your company’s dedication to helping expand Phoenix Children’s reach and impact so that all Arizona children can get the care they need.
