Cooling off underwater is a popular pastime during Arizona summers. However, the increased water activity means increased drowning rates. Between 2009 and 2013, the drowning rate in Arizona was nearly double the national rate. And each one was caused by a preventable accident.
The Hospital’s Injury Prevention Program works to reduce preventable injuries including drowning. Awareness campaigns that address water safety tips saves lives and improves wellness in our community. Your donations will support the important work the Injury Prevention program does to keep children safe while they splash and swim. Together, we can prevent the tragedy of childhood drowning.
