West Valley Board Partner with a Market Leader
In recent decades, the West Valley has transformed from a rural stretch to a thriving metropolis. The region once sustained by agriculture now claims leadership status in cutting-edge sectors such as aerospace, technology, finance and education. Today, the region’s population is soaring, with projections for continued growth.
The mission of the West Valley Board is to advocate, fundraise and raise awareness for the impact of Phoenix Children’s Hospital in our local West Valley communities. This
board will set a standard of excellence for philanthropy as Phoenix Children’s presence grows in the West Valley. The mix of the board’s guidance with the Hospital’s standing history will contribute positively through the season of expansion and future growth for years to come. Phoenix Children’s has responded to the need of Arizona children since its beginning in 1983, and with the help of the West Valley Board, this response will result in a heightened level of care to West Valley children and families.
As part of our effort to build world-class pediatric care for Arizona’s families, Phoenix Children’s has engaged in an unprecedented expansion into the West Valley. Phoenix Children’s Hospital —Arrowhead Campus, will be a new free-standing, three-floor pediatric facility in Glendale, and is just the latest element in a multifaceted expansion strategy. The West Valley’s newest hospital will be located at the end of the Abrazo Arrowhead campus, already a popular destination for high-quality maternity services and women’s care. Key features of this Phoenix Children’s facility will include a 24/7
pediatric emergency department, an outpatient surgery center, and a 45,000-square-foot multispecialty clinic, with expertise in orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, oncology, psychiatry and more.
In March 2021, Phoenix Children’s announced plans for its Southwest Campus expansion Avondale. This project will create the West Valley’s first freestanding, 24/7 pediatric ED, which is expected to treat 40,000 children annually, starting in the winter of 2023. The Southwest Campus will also include a multispecialty clinic, slated to open in Fall 2022. In Fall 2021, Phoenix Children’s new Sports Medicine Clinic will open in Avondale, providing close-to-home care for young athletes. The 7,900-square-foot comprehensive clinic will provide physical therapy, rehabilitation, and education. With support from the West Valley Board and the entire community, more children in the West Valley will enjoy the best possible start in life — and the quality care they deserve — right in their own community.
