Recap: Beach Ball 2016 Raised Over $1 Million for Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Department and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center expansion: A mariachi band, white carpet and Mexican Riviera flair transformed Jet Linx Scottsdale into Cabo San Lucas for the 23rd Annual Beach Ball presented by University of Phoenix and UnitedHealthcare. The 2016 event chairs, Blair Moffett and Taucha Silk, were joined by more than 800 guests for a beach party under the stars. This year marked the 23rd Annual Beach Ball Gala, benefiting the Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. As Arizona’s only Level 1 pediatric trauma center, PCH is best equipped to save children’s lives. But as the number of children treated each year has risen to more than 80,000, the emergency and trauma departments have outgrown their current space, making the need for a new facility critical.
Over the past two decades, Beach Ball has been a vital source of funding for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Our guests and sponsors have raised more than $14.7 million to help our patients and families – all while having a ball. Each year, guests experience a new theme and destination. This year’s One & Only experience featured a Mexican flair.
Thank you for helping the more than 300 patients treated in the Emergency Department every single day at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
