Molly, 16, is a force of energy. She loves soccer, being active and pushing the envelope. However, three years ago, Molly was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, and that changed her life forever.
“I went from soccer and running around to being immobilized by the cancer that was growing in my leg,” Molly says.
After learning she would have to undergo surgery to replace some of her bones with metal rods, Molly spent days lying in the dark. But thanks to Animal-Assisted Therapy and Child Life, two popular Phoenix Children's programs funded by supporters like you, a light ignited within Molly. She learned to find hope “in the little things.”
Molly is our 2024 Ignite Hope Honor Patient. Watch to learn more and then join us at Ignite Hope, presented by Angry Crab Shack, on December 14. During our special annual tradition, you will meet Molly and her family, hear more about her journey, walk and shine your light, and ignite hope and healing for patients like her today and in the future.
Your generous support makes it possible for Phoenix Children's to provide the very best pediatric care to kids like Molly. Ignite the light of hope for patients like her today.
