Here are the ways holiday donations can make an impact at Phoenix Children's

The holidays are a time when many people feel compelled to give back to their community by making holiday donations to causes that align with their values. If you’re interested in giving the gift of hope to sick and injured children while also achieving your financial goals, Phoenix Children's offers many ways to support world-class pediatric health care.

The meaningful gifts we collect during the holiday season help us bring some holiday cheer to our hospitalized patients and their families who would rather be celebrating at home. Every donation makes an impact. Here is just one example:

Giving a holiday donation to a nonprofit like Phoenix Children’s not only benefits patients and their families, but it can also bring financial benefits to donors. This is the best time to receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on your donation. You can be the face of hope for patients and qualify for the Arizona Charitable Tax Creditup to $421 if filing an individual tax return or $841 if filing jointly

Ways to Give

Here are some ways to make a difference at Phoenix Children's this holiday season.

Attend Ignite Hope

Join our special annual holiday tradition, Ignite Hope. Every year, our community joins together to walk and shine our lights for children in the hospital during the holidays. You can donate and/or fundraise and enjoy family fun.

Plan a Gift

Put your donation to work today or have it benefit Phoenix Children's in the future. Donations of stock, life insurance, retirement plan assets or real estate are ways you can make a difference while also leaving behind a legacy of your own

Give Stock(ing) Stuffers

Donating long-term appreciated stock this holiday season rather than cash can be beneficial. You receive a charitable income tax deduction for the stock's market value, and you can also avoid capital gains on the appreciation.

Cryptocurrency
Give Cryptocurrency

If you are looking for a way to recover after a tumultuous year for cryptocurrency, donating depreciated assets as a gift for world-class pediatric health care is a great choiceand you receive a tax benefit.

Ways to Maximize Your Holiday Donations

1.
Bundle Your Giving

Time your giving by bundling two years of donations into a single year, which brings you over the itemization threshold for deductions in one year. You can then take the standard deduction during the next tax year.

2.
Leverage Giving Power

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can use your IRA to make a charitable gift. This allows you to use your most highly taxed assets to do your giving. Simply contact your IRA custodian and direct them to make a transfer from your IRA directly to Phoenix Children's.

3.
Advise a Gift

A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits while supporting Phoenix Children’s. This philanthropic giving vehicle allows you to grant funds to charities of your choice over time with an immediate tax benefit.

4.
Time Your Gift

To qualify for a 2023 tax deduction, mailed gifts must be postmarked by December 31 (even if cashed during the following year). Credit card gifts must appear on your credit card statement on or prior to December 31
