Hannah was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 8. By the time she was 12, she had relapsed twice, and her treatment options were limited.

That's when Hannah and her care team at Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders turned to chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy, known as CAR-T cell therapy. This state-of-the-art treatment genetically alters a patient’s own cells (or a donor's cells) to recognize and destroy only the cancerous cells, leaving the healthy cells intact.
